Tananarive - Tuléar (20 days - 19 nights)

Day 1: Arrival in Madagascar
Arrival at Ivato Airport, transfer to the city, check-in at the hotel. Depending on the time available, we will take a short tour of the capital.

Day 2: Antananarivo – Antsirabe
Early in the morning, we take National Route 7 south, a 170 km journey through mountainous landscapes. Along the way, we will stop to discover various crafts and typical villages of the highlands. A stop in Ambohibary will allow us to meet traditional healers and learn about life outside the major cities. We will arrive in Antsirabe in the late afternoon. We will explore the city depending on the time available. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 3: Betafo Village
After breakfast, we’ll drive to Betafo, a small village 20km west of Antsirabe, for a short walk through fields and rice paddies, past a waterfall. It’s a leisurely 3-hour hike, with a short detour to the thermal baths. We’ll return to Antsirabe in the mid-afternoon. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 4: Mount Ibity – Antsirabe – Ambositra
Early in the morning, we’ll head south for 23km to reach the village of Ibity, where we’ll begin a beautiful hike that traverses the mountain from west to east. The hike is 5 to 6 hours, of moderate difficulty, and offers beautiful scenery and the opportunity to discover endemic plants. In the afternoon, we continue our journey, 90km to Ambositra. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 5: Zafimaniry
Very early in the morning, we’ll drive 46km off-road to Antoetra to visit the Zafimaniry people (woodcarvers). From there, we’ll continue on foot to visit typical Zafimaniry villages (5 hours of walking), a beautiful hike that will take 4 to 6 hours. We’ll then return the 46km to Ambositra. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 6: Ambositra – Ranomafana
In the morning, we’ll drive 150km through villages and exceptional landscapes to Ranomafana, home to the Tanala people. The landscape changes to tropical rainforest. The rest of the day can be spent exploring the village or relaxing in the hot springs at the thermal spa. A nighttime wildlife viewing is also possible. Overnight in a hotel

Day 7: Ranomafana National Park
In the morning, visit Ranomafana National Park: a leisurely walk in the lush forest, mainly to look for lemurs, which could take a few hours. In the afternoon, continue your journey to the city of Fianarantsoa, ​​capital of the Betsileo tribe. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 8: Fianarantsoa (Village Welcome)
A walk in the Fianarantsoa countryside to meet Betsileo villagers who will be happy to show us and share their daily life, including Savika, a typical Betsileo sport—a wonderful ethnocultural discovery. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 9: Fianarantsoa – Ambalavao
We begin the day with a visit to the old town of Fianarantsoa, ​​then continue south to Ambalavao. In the afternoon, visit Anja Village Park to see more ring-tailed lemurs. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 10: Ambalavao to Namoly, Andringitra National Park, East Entrance (overnight in Andranolava)
Leave Ambalavao early in the morning and travel 45km on a dirt track to reach the village of Namoly, where the entrance to Andringitra National Park is located on the east side. Complete the entry formalities, pick up porters, and a local guide. Immediately begin the Diavolana circuit (lunar landscape), a 5-hour hike with 700m of elevation gain. Dinner and overnight camping in tents at the Andranolava site.

Day 11: Andringitra National Park – Pic Boby 2658m (overnight in Andriampotsy)
Today’s objective is to reach Pic Boby, the second highest peak in Madagascar at 2658m, and the most easily accessible. Start very early for a 6-hour hike with 600m of elevation gain in the first 3 hours. Meals and overnight camping in tents at the ANDRIAMPOTSY site.

Day 12: Andringitra National Park, West Exit (Overnight in Antaranomby)
Today, we begin to leave the park, heading west. There will be more downhill than uphill, and we’ll also see different landscapes with the possibility of seeing lemurs. A final night camping at the ANTARANOMBY site, near the TSARANORO Valley.

Day 13: Andringitra National Park, Tsaranoro Village (Overnight in a hotel).
We’ll only have to hike in the morning, again with new scenery and more downhill. Once we arrive in Tsaranoro Village, we’re outside the National Park, back in the familiar world of the village and all its activities. Check-in at the hotel and relaxation.

Day 14: Tsaranoro Village – Ranohira
Continue our journey south, towards the Bara people. The scenery changes completely, leaving behind the savannah and granite mountains, and the almost uninhabited plateaus, as we head to Ranohira. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 15: Isalo National Park
To spend the day, we combine two circuits. First, the natural pool, then Namazaha with its lemurs, the black pool, and the blue pool. This will take us 7 to 8 hours (hiking, breaks, swimming). Overnight in a hotel.

Day 16: Ranohira – Tulear – Ifaty
We depart very early in the morning. The landscape is drier but still beautiful, and we start to see baobab trees. A 5-hour drive takes us to the city of Tulear. We can visit the Antsokay Arboretum and walk on the Tropic of Capricorn. Overnight in a hotel.

Days 16-18: Beaches of Mangily, Ifaty, Madiorano (North), or Anakao (South)
Activities include: visiting baobab forests, pirogue trips, fishing villages, diving, or simply relaxing. The beaches north of Tulear are easily accessible, while Anakao, in the south, requires a boat transfer. Overnight stays will be in hotels.

Day 19: Tulear – Antananarivo
Transfer to Tulear airport two hours before departure. Flight to Antananarivo. You will be met at the airport and taken to your hotel. A short tour of the city may be possible depending on the time available.

Day 20: Return to your country of origin
